Floodland is a children's fantasy novel by Marcus Sedgwick, published on March 2, 2000 by Orion Children's Books and aimed at children. Floodland won the Branford Boase Award in 2001 for an outstanding first published novel.

Plot introduction

Floodland is set in the near future where most of the United Kingdom is covered by water. The storyline concerns a girl named Zoe who is left behind after her family flees the floods. She is left alone in the ruins of Norwich but escapes to Eels Island (Ely Cathedral) where she discovers a sinister society run by a strange boy.

Zoe is left by a boat that her parents left on when she goes on search for them she faces big challenges. Zoe's mom was awfully sick so then she gets hit by something on the head, she faints and couldn't tell her parents what happened because they had already left.
